Data Recovery — Hard Drives, SSDs, Memory Cards & RAID
Deleted files, formatted drives, dead disks, RAID arrays and failed SSDs — recovered on a no-recovery-no-fee basis.
Data recovery is the one service where what you do in the first ten minutes matters more than anything we do afterwards. If a drive has started clicking, or files have vanished, or Windows is asking to format a disk that used to work — stop using it. Every additional read attempt on a failing drive causes more damage, and every write to a formatted disk overwrites data that was still recoverable.
We work on a no-recovery-no-fee basis. You get a free assessment, an honest probability, and a list of what we can actually see before you commit any money. If we recover nothing, you pay nothing — not for the assessment, not for the attempt, not for collection.
The technical detail, if you want it
Recovery falls into two very different categories, and the price gap between them is large.
Logical recovery covers deleted files, formatted partitions, corrupted file systems and inaccessible drives where the hardware is still functional. The data is physically present but the map to it is damaged or has been marked as free. This is the most common case, it has a high success rate, and it is the cheaper end of the scale. The critical thing is not to write anything new to the drive — every file saved to it risks overwriting what you want back.
Physical recovery covers drives that have suffered hardware failure — failed read/write heads, seized spindle motors, damaged platters, dead controller boards. This work requires a clean environment, donor drives for parts, and specialised equipment. It is slower and more expensive, and success is genuinely case by case. Clicking, grinding or buzzing noises are the signature of physical failure, and the single most important thing is to power the drive off immediately.
SSDs are their own category. When an SSD controller fails, the NAND chips holding your data are usually intact but inaccessible, and reaching them requires chip-off work and reconstructing the controller's mapping. It is specialist, expensive and not always successful — which is exactly why we push backups so hard on anyone running an SSD-only machine.
We also handle RAID arrays, where a failed disk or a controller problem has taken an array offline. Rebuilding a RAID incorrectly can destroy data permanently, so the first rule is not to let anyone attempt an automatic rebuild until the array has been imaged.
How we carry out this repair
Every stage is documented and you see photographs of the actual fault before you approve any work.
-
Step 01
Stop using the drive
Before anything else: power it off. Continued use of a failing drive causes further damage, and writing to a formatted drive overwrites recoverable data.
-
Step 02
Free assessment
We identify whether the failure is logical or physical, list what is visible, and give an honest recovery probability and price before you commit anything.
-
Step 03
Sector-by-sector imaging
We never work on the original. A full forensic image is taken first, with damaged sectors handled carefully, and all recovery work happens on the copy.
-
Step 04
Logical reconstruction
File system structures rebuilt, partitions recovered and file signatures scanned to reconstruct data even where directory entries are gone.
-
Step 05
Physical repair where needed
Head assembly or controller board replacement using matched donor drives in a controlled environment, purely to get the drive readable long enough to image.
-
Step 06
File list before you pay
You see exactly what has been recovered — a full listing, with samples opened to confirm integrity — before any payment is due.
-
Step 07
Secure delivery
Recovered data delivered on your own drive or one we supply, then our working copies securely wiped on your confirmation.
Options and prices
Where more than one approach solves your fault, we quote all of them and explain the trade-off. The cheapest option that genuinely works is always on the list.
| Option | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Deleted / formatted file recovery High success rate where nothing has been written since. | ₹1,500 – ₹3,500 | High success rate where nothing has been written since. |
| Corrupt file system / partition recovery Drive healthy but inaccessible. | ₹2,500 – ₹5,500 | Drive healthy but inaccessible. |
| Mechanical hard drive recovery Head or motor failure. Requires donor parts. | ₹6,500 – ₹18,000 | Head or motor failure. Requires donor parts. |
| SSD / NVMe controller failure recovery Chip-off work. Assessed case by case. | ₹8,500 – ₹28,000 | Chip-off work. Assessed case by case. |
| Pen drive / memory card recovery Including physically snapped connectors. | ₹1,500 – ₹6,500 | Including physically snapped connectors. |
| RAID array recovery Never let anyone auto-rebuild before imaging. | ₹9,500 – ₹26,000 | Never let anyone auto-rebuild before imaging. |
| Assessment Always, including collection and return. | Free | Always, including collection and return. |
Prices are indicative ranges. Your exact figure is confirmed in writing after the ₹350 bench diagnosis, and it does not change afterwards.
Advice from our bench
Some of this reduces the amount of work we get. We would still rather you knew it.
The moment you notice a problem, power the drive off. Every extra minute of use reduces what can be recovered.
If a drive is clicking or grinding, do not switch it on again. Each spin-up can cause the heads to damage the platters further.
Never install recovery software onto the affected drive. Installing it overwrites the very data you are trying to get back.
Do not let anyone attempt an automatic RAID rebuild before the array has been imaged. A failed rebuild can destroy data permanently.
If the drive got wet, do not dry it or power it up. Keep it sealed and bring it in immediately.
The best data recovery is the backup you already have. Two copies, in two places, tested.

Customers who had this repair
“My final year project was on a laptop that would not start, two days before submission. They pulled all my files onto a pen drive within the same day so I could carry on working from a friend's laptop, and fixed the machine afterwards. They understood the deadline mattered more than the repair.”

“My Omen was shutting down mid-game and two shops told me the graphics card had failed. These guys measured the temperatures first, showed me the graph, and it turned out the heatsink was completely blocked. Full clean and repaste, temperatures dropped by around 20 degrees, and it has been stable for four months. They saved me from buying a card I did not need.”

“The service centre quoted me ₹16,500 for a new motherboard. I brought that quote here and they opened it under a microscope, photographed the burnt component and repaired it for ₹2,800. They also showed me why my charger was causing it. Three months on, no problems at all.”
