Apple's service model is replacement, not repair. For a machine under warranty or AppleCare+ that is entirely reasonable and you should use it. For an out-of-warranty MacBook it frequently means a quote approaching the value of the machine, for a fault that is often a single component on the logic board.
We repair at component level. Backlight fuses, charging ICs, power rail MOSFETs, USB-C power delivery controllers, corroded traces after a liquid event — all of these are diagnosable and repairable with a microscope, a preheater and the right schematics. Customers travel to us from across all four belts specifically for this, usually holding an Apple quote.
We also flag Apple's own repair programmes honestly. If your keyboard qualifies under the Keyboard Service Programme, or your model has a known display or battery programme, we tell you — even though it means we do not get the job. You should not pay us for something Apple will do free.
