Laptop Screen Replacement in Virar, Nallasopara, Vasai & Naigaon

Cracked, flickering, black or lined display? We fit a matched-specification panel and test it under load before it leaves the bench.

A broken laptop screen is the single most common repair we handle across the Vasai–Virar belt, and it is also the repair where customers get short-changed most often. The trap is resolution: a laptop that shipped with a 1920×1080 panel can be made to display a picture on a cheaper 1366×768 panel, and unless you know what you originally had, you may never realise you were downgraded. We read the original panel's part number off the back of the old display and match it — resolution, refresh rate, backlight brightness, connector type and mounting pattern — before quoting.

We stock the common 14-inch and 15.6-inch FHD panels used by HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus and Acer, which covers the large majority of what comes off our collection runs. If your machine uses one of those, collection in the morning usually means the laptop is back with you the same evening. Touch panels, OLED, 2K/QHD and high-refresh gaming displays are ordered against your specific model number and typically take two to three working days.

The technical detail, if you want it

It is worth understanding what actually breaks, because it changes the price considerably. A modern laptop display is a stack: the LCD or OLED panel itself, a backlight, a display cable running through the hinge, a bezel, and on touch models a separate digitiser glass bonded to the panel. Damage to any one of those produces different symptoms.

A spider-web crack with the picture still visible underneath means the panel is broken but the cable and board are fine — a straightforward panel swap. Vertical or horizontal coloured lines that change when you flex the lid usually indicate a failing display cable rather than the panel, and replacing the cable costs a fraction of a panel. A completely black screen where you can faintly see the desktop under a torch is a backlight or backlight-driver fault, not a dead laptop. And a screen that flickers or shows uneven brightness along one edge, particularly on a MacBook Pro, is the classic worn display flex cable.

We test for all of these before quoting, using a known-good panel and a known-good cable on the bench. That five-minute test is why a meaningful number of customers who came to us expecting a ₹6,000 panel quote leave with a ₹900 cable repair instead.

How we carry out this repair

Every stage is documented and you see photographs of the actual fault before you approve any work.

  1. Step 01

    Free on-bench diagnosis

We connect an external monitor to confirm the graphics output is healthy, then test with a known-good panel and cable to isolate whether the fault is the panel, the cable or the backlight circuit.

  2. Step 02

    Original specification lookup

We read the part number printed on the back of your existing panel and match resolution, refresh rate, brightness, connector pin count and mounting pattern so you get like-for-like, not a downgrade.

  3. Step 03

    Written quote before work

You receive the panel model, its grade, the labour charge and the warranty period on WhatsApp. Nothing proceeds until you approve it.

  4. Step 04

    Bezel and panel removal

Plastic bezel released with nylon spudgers rather than metal tools so the clips survive, panel unscrewed, display cable disconnected carefully at the socket.

  5. Step 05

    New panel fitted and tested

Panel mounted, cable seated and taped correctly, then a full test — dead pixel scan, uniform brightness check, colour test screens and a hinge-flex test at every lid angle.

  6. Step 06

    Reassembly and handover

Bezel reseated, every screw returned to its original position, machine burn-in tested for at least thirty minutes, then delivered to your door with a printed warranty.

Options and prices

Where more than one approach solves your fault, we quote all of them and explain the trade-off. The cheapest option that genuinely works is always on the list.

Option Price
14" / 15.6" HD (1366×768) panel Only fitted where the laptop originally shipped with an HD panel. ₹2,200 – ₹3,200
14" / 15.6" FHD (1920×1080) panel Most common replacement. Usually in stock, same-day fitting. ₹3,200 – ₹4,800
Display cable replacement only Where the panel is intact and the cable is the fault. ₹700 – ₹1,600
Backlight driver repair Board-level repair where the panel and cable test good. ₹900 – ₹2,400
Touchscreen assembly Digitiser bonded to panel. Ordered against your model. ₹6,500 – ₹12,500
Gaming 120 Hz / 144 Hz panel Refresh rate and colour gamut matched to original. ₹7,500 – ₹12,500

Prices are indicative ranges. Your exact figure is confirmed in writing after the ₹350 bench diagnosis, and it does not change afterwards.

Advice from our bench

Some of this reduces the amount of work we get. We would still rather you knew it.

Carry your laptop in a sleeve with a rigid back panel and hold it vertically, not flat — this prevents most of the crush damage we see.

Never close the lid with a pen, cable or earphone on the keyboard. It is the second most common cause of cracked panels.

If lines appear only when you move the lid, stop opening and closing it and get the cable checked — it is far cheaper than a panel.

Shine a torch at a "dead" screen. If you can see the desktop faintly, the panel is alive and only the backlight has failed.

Ask any repairer for the panel part number in writing. It is the only way to confirm you were not downgraded.

“Screen cracked in the train. They collected in the morning and returned it the same evening. What I appreciated is they showed me the part number on my old panel and on the new one so I could see it was the same FHD resolution. A previous shop had put a lower resolution screen in my old laptop and I never realised.”

“My Omen was shutting down mid-game and two shops told me the graphics card had failed. These guys measured the temperatures first, showed me the graph, and it turned out the heatsink was completely blocked. Full clean and repaste, temperatures dropped by around 20 degrees, and it has been stable for four months. They saved me from buying a card I did not need.”

“The service centre quoted me ₹16,500 for a new motherboard. I brought that quote here and they opened it under a microscope, photographed the burnt component and repaired it for ₹2,800. They also showed me why my charger was causing it. Three months on, no problems at all.”

Laptop Screen Replacement — your questions answered

Can you replace just the broken glass instead of the whole screen?
On a standard non-touch laptop, no — the glass and the LCD are a single sealed unit, so the panel is replaced as one part. On touchscreen laptops and MacBooks, glass-only replacement is sometimes possible and we will tell you when it is the cheaper, sensible option.
How do I know you fitted the same quality panel?
We photograph the part number on your original panel and on the replacement, and both appear on your invoice. Check the resolution in Windows display settings after the repair — it should be identical to before.
Will replacing the screen erase my data?
No. The screen is entirely separate from the storage. Your files, programs and settings are untouched.
My screen is cracked but the laptop still works. Can I keep using it?
Briefly, but not for long. Cracks spread, and a damaged panel can short and damage the display circuitry on the motherboard. It is a cheap repair now and a much bigger one later.
Is a same-day screen replacement really possible?
For the standard 14-inch and 15.6-inch FHD panels we keep in stock, yes — collected in the morning, returned in the evening. Ordered panels take two to three working days and we tell you the realistic date upfront.
What warranty do I get on the new screen?
Twelve months on the panel itself and six months on the fitting, printed on your invoice. If a dead pixel cluster or backlight fault appears within that period we replace it again at no charge.
