'My laptop is slow' is the most common thing customers say to us, and it is almost never one problem. In our experience there are usually three or four causes acting together: a mechanical hard drive at the end of its life, not enough RAM for modern software, a cooling system so blocked that the processor is throttling itself, and a Windows installation carrying years of accumulated startup clutter.
That is why simply reinstalling Windows so often disappoints — it addresses one cause out of four. We measure all of them, tell you how much each is contributing, and rank the fixes by improvement per rupee so you can decide how far to go. You get a before-and-after benchmark either way.
The technical detail, if you want it
Each cause has a distinct signature and can be measured rather than guessed at.
Storage bottleneck: Task Manager shows disk usage pinned at 100% while CPU sits low. On a mechanical drive this is normal behaviour under modern Windows, and no amount of software cleanup fixes it. An SSD does.
Memory pressure: memory usage above roughly 80% with heavy page file activity. The system is constantly swapping data to disk, and on a mechanical drive that is catastrophic for responsiveness. More RAM, or fewer simultaneous applications, is the fix.
Thermal throttling: this one is invisible without measurement. The processor reduces its own clock speed — sometimes to a third of rated speed — to avoid overheating. A machine can look healthy in every other respect and still be running at a fraction of its capability. Cleaning and repasting typically restores it fully.
Software overhead: dozens of startup programs, background updaters, browser extensions, and often a 'PC cleaner' that is itself consuming resources. This is the cheapest to fix and frequently the smallest contributor, which is worth knowing before paying for it as a standalone service.
And finally, drive health. A drive with reallocated or pending sectors causes long freezes as the system retries failed reads. That is not a performance problem to be tuned; it is a failing drive that needs replacing before it takes your data with it. We check SMART data on every one of these jobs.

Advice from our bench
Some of this reduces the amount of work we get. We would still rather you knew it.
Do not accept "your laptop is old" as a diagnosis. Ask for measurements — disk speed, memory pressure, CPU clocks under load.
Uninstall any PC cleaner or driver updater software. It is very often the cause of the slowdown rather than the cure.
Keep at least 15% of your drive free. A nearly full drive slows the whole system down.
Check Task Manager. Disk at 100% with low CPU means storage is your bottleneck and an SSD is the answer.
Thermal throttling is invisible without measurement and is frequently the biggest single cause. Get temperatures checked.
Fewer browser extensions makes a bigger difference than most people expect.
