Frequently Asked Questions
Everything customers ask before booking — coverage, pricing, turnaround, warranty, data handling and what to do in an emergency. If your question is not answered here, call 7499761116 and ask.
Service & coverage
Which areas do you cover for free pickup and delivery?
We cover four belts in full: Virar (West and East, including Agashi, Arnala, Bolinj, Global City, Manvelpada, Chandansar and Phoolpada), Nallasopara (West and East, including Alkapuri, Nilemore, Achole Road, Tulinj Road and Pelhar), Vasai (West and East, including Manickpur, Papdy, Ambadi Road, Waliv, Gokhivare and Evershine City) and Naigaon (West and East, including Juchandra, Sasunavghar and Naigaon Gaon). Pickup and delivery are free everywhere in that coverage, with no minimum repair value and no distance surcharge.
How long does a typical repair take?
Same day for stocked parts — screen replacement, battery, keyboard, SSD and RAM upgrades, software work and cooling service. Two to five working days for chip-level motherboard repair, ordered panels and data recovery. Three to seven days for MacBook logic board work and liquid damage recovery, because the extended verification testing afterwards is not something we skip. You get a realistic timeline in writing with the quote.
Can you repair my laptop at my home instead of taking it away?
Software work, upgrades, network and printer setup and basic diagnostics can all be done at your desk. Anything involving a teardown — cooling service, screen, keyboard, board repair — needs the workshop bench with proper tools, static protection and magnification. We will not open a machine on a dining table and call it a proper repair.
What are your working hours?
We are open every day, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM. Emergency intake for liquid damage runs outside those hours — if you have spilled something on a laptop, call 7499761116 regardless of the time and we will arrange collection.
Pricing & invoices
Do you really charge nothing for diagnosis?
Nothing at all. Collection, full diagnosis and return are free whether or not you go ahead with the repair. If you decline the quote we reassemble the machine exactly as it came in and return it to your door at no cost. We would rather you had an honest answer than felt obliged to proceed.
Do you give a GST invoice?
Yes. Every job gets a printed invoice listing the parts by name and grade, the labour separately, and the warranty period. Mention it when booking if you need a GST invoice with your GSTIN for reimbursement or business accounting.
How do I know the price will not change after you open it?
Because we open it and diagnose before quoting, not after. The quote you approve on WhatsApp is the price you pay. In the rare case where a second fault is discovered underneath the first — most often on liquid damage — we stop, photograph it, and get your approval before doing anything further. We never present a surprise on the invoice.
Warranty
What warranty do you give?
Up to twelve months depending on the part and the type of work — twelve months on screens, batteries and SSDs, six months on board-level repairs, keyboards and hinge work, three months on liquid damage recovery. The exact period is printed on your invoice. We do not give verbal warranties.
Your data
Is my data safe while you have my laptop?
Yes. We image the drive before any significant work as a precaution, nothing is ever uploaded to any cloud service, work happens on isolated machines, and our working copies are securely wiped once you confirm you have everything. If you would prefer to remove the drive before handing the machine over, that is completely fine and we will tell you how.
Repairs & second opinions
A service centre said my motherboard needs replacing. Should I get a second opinion?
Almost always, yes, and ours is free. The overwhelming majority of board failures we see are a single failed component — a charging IC, a MOSFET, a shorted capacitor — which we repair for a small fraction of a replacement board. Bring the previous quote with you and we will show you under the microscope what is genuinely wrong.
Is my old laptop worth repairing or should I buy a new one?
That depends on the condition of the board, screen and processor, not on the year printed on the sticker. Most laptops from the last seven or eight years are excellent candidates for an SSD, a battery and a cooling service — the improvement is substantial and the cost is a fraction of a replacement. Where a machine genuinely is not worth spending on, we say so plainly and we do not earn anything from that advice.
Do you repair MacBooks yourself or send them elsewhere?
We repair them on our own bench in Virar — logic board work, battery and top case, keyboard, trackpad, display and liquid damage recovery for MacBook Air and Pro including Intel and M-series models, plus iMac and Mac Mini. Nothing is couriered to a third party without telling you first, and you always know where your machine is.
Can you help if I bought a second-hand laptop?
Yes, and a health check on a used purchase is genuinely worth the money. We read the battery cycle count and wear, the drive SMART health, the actual panel model against what the machine originally shipped with, thermal behaviour under load, and check for signs of previous liquid damage. It takes about an hour and tells you exactly what you bought.
Parts
Do you use original parts or copies?
We use genuine parts where they are obtainable and high-grade equivalents where they are not, and we state clearly which is which before you approve the quote. The part name and grade appear on your invoice. We never describe an equivalent part as genuine, and we will always tell you what a cheaper option would cost if one exists.
Emergencies
What should I do immediately if I spill liquid on my laptop?
Hold the power button for five seconds to force it off, unplug the charger, remove the battery if it is removable, and turn the laptop upside down like a tent so liquid drains away from the board. Do not switch it on to check whether it still works — that is what turns a cleanable spill into a dead motherboard. Then call 7499761116; liquid damage always jumps our queue.
Maintenance
How often should a laptop be serviced in this region?
Every six months for most homes here, because dust and ambient heat levels are well above average. Every three months in industrial areas like Waliv, Sativali, Pelhar and the godown belts. Annually is only sufficient in a genuinely clean, air-conditioned environment. A service costs a fraction of the repairs it prevents.
Business & societies
Do you offer maintenance contracts for businesses and societies?
Yes. Annual contracts cover scheduled preventive servicing at an interval matched to your environment, health monitoring, tested backup verification, update management, priority emergency response and permission-based remote support. We also document your systems and give that documentation to you to keep. Housing society offices, shops, clinics and industrial units are all covered.
General
Do you buy old laptops or offer trade-in?
We do not run a resale counter, so we have no financial interest in telling you a machine is finished. What we will do is give you an honest view of what your laptop is realistically worth as-is or for parts, and recover your data before you dispose of it.
